Seattle Eats
From hot dogs to dungenous crab to ice cream, Seattle is a foodie city that has something for everyone.
Here is a list of my food recommendations:
Beecher’s Homemade Cheese
Clearly, macaroni and cheese is one of the greatest foods ever. So when I read that Beecher’s Homemade Cheese has the “World’s Best” Mac & Cheese on their menu, I knew I had to give it a try.
They are located right across the street from Pike Place Market. If you look through the window, you can see the cheese being made. Where all the magic happens!
So whats the verdict? Is this really the world’s best mac and cheese? As a macaroni and cheese connoisseur, I have to disagree that this is the best. However, it was still absolutely delicious. I mean macaroni…cheese…what’s not to love?
Dick’s Drive-In
Dick’s Drive- In is a fast food restaurant chain in Seattle. It is Seattle’s go to spot for cheap burgers and fries and a must try.
We ordered the Dick’s Deluxe Burger, french fries, and a milkshake to share.
Monster Dogs
Seattle Dogs have changed my life. This is a hot dog with cream cheese and cooked onions/vegetables. I don’t know if I can go back to eating hot dogs without cream cheese! If cream cheese on a hot dog is wrong, I don’t want to be right.
There are many places in the city to enjoy one of these babies. We chose Monster Dogs and I am glad we did. It is a food cart open on Fridays and Saturdays from 8:30pm-2:30am. This early bird will stay out late for a Seattle dog. Be warned that their opening time isn’t exactly punctual. It was closer to 9:30 pm. The early bird may catch the worm, but it doesn’t catch the Seattle dog!
Taylor’s Shellfish
You can’t go to the Pacific Northwest without enjoying some of the delicious fresh seafood that they have to offer. Taylor’s Seafood is the perfect place.
We had some raw oysters which over the last year, I have really come to enjoy. All the sliminess and hot sauce, please!
We ordered dungenous crab because it is native to the Northwest. It was beyond delicious and served with a flavorful aioli in the crab shell.
The last thing we had was geoduck (pronounced gooey duck). I love trying new foods but I don’t always like them! It is a large mollusk that looks quite strange (I advise you to look it up).
It was beautifully presented and I am glad I tried it…once.
Tim’s Cascade Potato Chips
I like trying potato chips from different parts of the country. Tim’s cascade are made in the Pacific Northwest. We tried jalapeño and original. Both were the perfect snack to bring on our hike.
Safeco Field: Garlic Fries
Not much can make me enjoy a sporting event. However, the garlic fries at Safeco Field are a game changer.
Top Pot Donuts
I ate Top Pot Donuts in my bed and I don’t feel bad about it! While my fellow watched a game on tv, I had my share of the donuts and took a tiny nap. We like to share so we bought 4 donuts and cut them down the middle.
Bavarian Cream
Glazed Old Fashioned
Double Trouble (Chocolate cake donut with chocolate icing)
Chocolate with maple icing
Molly Moon’s Homemade Ice Cream
It isn’t a vacation without ice cream. Molly Moon’s is a non-negotiable when you are in Seattle. Lines were out the door! It is necessary to get two flavors so you can try as many as possible. If you don’t agree, you are not my people.
I had the melted chocolate flavor made of 70% dark organic chocolate. Can’t go wrong! I also had honey lavender to try something new. It was good but reminiscent of potpourri.
My fellow had Stumptown coffee and one of their specials. Both delicious!
Kurt Farm Shop
Even more delicious ice cream! The custard base of Kurt Farm Shop’s ice cream is made at the farm using Jersey cream and milk, organic cane sugar and fresh, and pastured eggs. It was creamy and luxurious.
We went simple and had a scoop of sweet cream and a scoop of chocolate. Don’t be fooled by our selection; they have some really creative flavors.
After a food filled trip, it’s time to eat healthy for a while!
