Chicago Activities
We had a jam packed long weekend trip in Chicago. Here are some of the highlights if you ever find yourself in Chicago looking for something to do.
Architecture River Cruise
We spent a lovely morning on one of Chicago’s First Lady Cruises.
It was a great way to learn all about the city’s architecture.
The perfect way to spend some time out on the water and enjoy some beautiful views!
Millenium Park
We headed over to Millennium Park.
There are many sculptures in the park but the most iconic is Cloud Gate (also known as the bean). It can get super crowded so for good pictures go really early.
It’s like a big funhouse mirror! Don’t try to resist doing a goofy pose…it’s impossible.
Buckingham Fountain
Buckingham fountain is located in the center of Grant Park. You might recognize it from the show Married with Children.
Willis Tower
Willis Tower is the 2nd tallest building in the United States.
You can purchase tickets to go up to the Skydeck where you can see some spectacular views of the city.
We were really lucky to arrive right when it opened and missed the line. Plan accordingly because wait times can be long!
Lincoln Park Zoo
I have been to better zoos in my opinion. However, I love animals and am always happy to see them.
Cutest. baby. ever.
One day, I hope to be this relaxed!
Art Institute of Chicago
The Art Institute was huge and filled with beautiful art from different time periods and parts of the world. Everything was really interesting and we only had time to skim the surface of all the cool stuff in there.
Happy itinerary planning!
