My fellow loves sports, so naturally I was forced to attend a baseball game at Wrigley Field while we were in Chicago.

It was an interesting experience. However, it isn’t what I want to share with you in this post. No, I want to share something far more special- Al’s Beef.

Is it possible for a sandwich to be the love of your life? It’s an age old question and the answer is…yes.

Al’s beef has a very convenient location within walking distance from Wrigley Field. At times, I daydream about flying to Chicago just to go to Al’s Beef and then flying home.

Al’s Italian Beef Sandwich is something you need to put on your food bucket list immediately. I ordered the little beef which was just right for someone my size. My fellow ordered a bigger sandwich and surprisingly delicious french fries.

These sandwiches look messy (not visually appealing) but don’t let that fool you!

There are two things that make this sandwich so delicious.

The first is the hot giardiniera. It is the perfect level of spicy. You can order it without but I don’t know why you would. If you do, I am not sure we can be friends.

The second is ordering the sandwich “dipped.” This means that they submerge the entire sandwich into the meat juice until its completely soaked and dripping wet.

Roll up your sleeves (to your shoulders) and dig in!
